East Cambridgeshire Schools Art Exhibition 2015

The work of students from East Cambridgeshire Schools including Soham Village College is currently being exhibited at the Babylon Gallery, Ely.  This is an annual exhibition showcasing some of the best examples of work from schools in the area and is a great opportunity for students to see their work on display in a gallery setting.  adec3

SVC Affordable Art Fair

In the art department at SVC staff and students believe in art for all and would therefore like to give you the opportunity to own stunning limited edition prints of original artwork produced by some of our many talented artists. The collection includes a wide range of themes, influences, subject and media so you are sure to find something to kick start or enhance your art collection.

All money raised will go towards investing in a new DSLR camera for the department so that the students can produce far better quality photographs for their coursework than they are currently able. We are aiming to raise  approximately £300.00 to by a Nikon 5200.

a new building

Welcome to Soham Village College Art Department. In June 2014 we moved into the brand new purpose built Fitzwilliam ArtLab and since then many pieces of art work have been produced. Here are photographs of a collaborative mural painted over two days by students in years seven, eight and nine. Starting in 1880 with post-impressionism it takes us through all the major art movements of the twentieth century right up to The Young British Artists of the eighties and nineties.mural7mural9mural10 mural11 mural12mural3mural5mural4muralblog5mural1mural6 As you can see great work is being created by our talented students. We hope you will continue to follow our blog, watch their progress and don’t forget to comment!
